Slate Wall Tiles for Brits projects
A feature wall in Brits faces the same questions as anywhere in North West: damp walls, humidity in bathrooms and kitchens, and the right adhesive for heavier tiles. Local stone and tile suppliers can show real samples and deliver. Share your wall size and finish, and suppliers nearby will quote.
Want to know more first? Our slate wall tiles guide covers the options, what to check and what affects the price.
Slate, stone and weather in Brits
Brits lies on the Crocodile River flats between Pretoria and Rustenburg, close to the Hartbeespoort holiday belt, so slate shows up on braai areas, pool surrounds and stone-clad entrances of weekend houses and smallholdings. Black cotton soil in parts of the district swells and shrinks, which cracks rigid floors and paving unless the bed is solid and movement joints are cut. Highveld hail damages roof tiles and slate-look sheets, and strong sun fades unsealed stone on open patios. Local tile shops and builders' merchants stock common slate and paving, while Pretoria yards supply larger or special orders and deliver to farms and estates around the dam.
Typical slate wall tiles requests in the area come from:
- Suburban homes: a slate feature wall behind the television or beside the fireplace in the family lounge
- Farms, lodges and wine estates: rustic slate walls in farmhouse kitchens, lodge lounges and tasting rooms beside the fire
- Security and golf estates: full-height textured slate feature walls in entrance halls, stairwells and open-plan living rooms
- New builds and developments: slate wall tiles planned early so walls are flat, waterproofed and ready to tile
- Restaurants, hotels and offices: slate feature walls behind reception desks, bars, restaurant booths and hotel lobbies
- Older and heritage homes: honed slate panels beside fireplaces and in kitchens that respect the character of the house
Why get a quote in Brits first?
Prices for slate wall tiles in Brits depend on the exact stone, finish, thickness, quantities, current stock and delivery. A quote based on your details is the quickest way to know what you will pay, and it shows what is included before anything starts.
What to include in your request
- State the wall area in m² and its height.
- Say where the wall is: lounge, kitchen, bathroom or outdoors.
- Choose a finish and colour, or ask for samples.
- Describe the wall behind: brick, plaster, plasterboard or timber.
- Say whether you want supply only or supply and install.
The more detail you give, the more accurate your quote will be.
